Weda Bay?s Clinton to retire from Chairmanship

Canadian nickel explorer Weda Bay Minerals inc. announced Friday that Chairman Louis Clinton would retire from the company?s BoD effective from November 2004 after 8 years of service.

Clinton has acted as Chairman and previously President and Chief Executive Officer since 1996 and has lead the Company from its initial public listing to its current position as one of the most significant junior exploration Companies in laterite nickel project development.

Clinton will remain available to the Company on a consultancy basis.

Weda Bay Minerals Inc (WDA) is an exploration and development company focused on nickel and cobalt laterite project on the island of Halmahera. The recently announced increased project resources are 182 million tonnes grading 1.35% Ni and 0.11% Co of measured and indicated resources plus 160 million tonnes grading 1.37% Ni and 0.12% Co of inferred resource. Resource estimates are at cutoff grades of 1.0% Ni and 0.1% Co.

The company has completed an independent Pre Feasibility Study, which concludes that the Halmahera project is highly viable. The Company is now working towards the commencement of a Bankable Feasibility Study. (alex)
