West Java FSRU suffers disruption in regasification process

Gas supply from West Java FSRU was disrupted for half an hour on Wednesday during a transfer of operation from one of turbine generators to a diesel generator that unexpectedly caused Sea Water Lifting Pump to halt operation.
Hendra Jaya, President Director of PT Nusantara Regas that owns the FSRU, said that the transfer of operation from one generator to another was a routine activity to allow it to clean up its sea water filter system blocked by waste.
?But it caused a malfunction in Lifting Pump used as a heater in the LNG regasification process in the FSRU that eventually disrupted supply. This occurred for about 30 minutes in Wednesday morning,? Hendra told petromindo.com.
The company is conducting a detailed investigation into the matter to prevent similar incident in the future, Hendra said.
