The West Java administration will tender three geothermal fields ? Tangkuban Perahu Mountain in Subang, Tampomas Mountain in Sumedang and Cisolok in Sukabumi, the Bisnis Indonesia reported Friday.

?We have completed feasibility study of these three locations. Now just we are waiting for the tender process,? West Java provincial secretary Leks Laksmana told the Bisnis Indonesia in Bandung on Thursday.

Leks said he has no information yet when the tender process will commence.

He said the Presidential Decree No. 67/2005 clearly covers the procedure that infrastructure projects must be tendered at the center so three geothermal fields will be tendered by central government.

Separately, West Java?s Provincial Agency for Promotion and Investment (BPPMD) chief Isak Suratman said that several foreign investors, including from China and Switzerland, are interested in the projects.

?Actually, there are also other countries? investors who are interested (in geothermal projects) but I have forgotten their countries names. Several domestic investors are also interested,? Isak said.

Earlier report said that Medco plans to build a geothermal power plant in Tangkuban Perahu, with a capacity of between 10 and 20 megawatts.(*)
