White, Bayan start Tabang upgraded coal production

ASX-listed coal upgrading firm White Energy Company Limited (WEC) and its partner IDX-listed coal mining firm PT Bayan Resources Tbk. have started producing upgraded clean coal briquettes in Tabang, East Kalimantan.

?WEC and Bayan through its joint venture firm PT Kaltim Supacoal (KSC) is now producing at KSC?s 1 million tonne per annum binderless coal briquetting plant (BCB plant),? WEC said on Wednesday.

The BCB plant is being commissioned and gets power a 10 MW coal fired power station owned by the joint venture, which is also under a commissioning stage.

Once the commissioning process is completed in the next few weeks, the BCB plant will be integrated with the power plant. This will allow the BCB plant to produce at full capacity in the next few months, it added. (denny)
