White Energy expects to start Adaro coal briquetting plant in 2009

Australian coal upgrading technology developer White Energy Company expects to start development of 8 million tones per annum coal upgrading plant in Adore Indonesia?s coal concession area in Kalimantan in 2009.

The company together with Adore and Japan?s firm Itochu Corp are forming a joint venture company with White holding 51 percent.

The company said a significant quantities of Adore coal is now being processed at its Cassock, New South Wales.

The company said it was also in talks with miners and power utilities to develop similar ventures.

The company is currently in the process of constructing 1MTPA coal upgrading plant in Tabang, East Kalimantan in cooperation with Tabang mine owner Bayan Resources. The plant is expected to come onstream in the fisrt quarter of 2009. (alex)
