White Energy, Thiess form pact to develop briquetting plants in Indonesia

ASX-listed firm White Energy Company Limited announced on Thursday it had entered into a strategic alliance for a period of five years with PT Thiess Contractors Indonesia, a subsidiary of Australian firm Leighton Holdings to jointly develop Binderless Coal Briquetting plants in Indonesia

White Energy currently has joint venture contracts in place to produce a targeted 13 MTPA of its patented binderless coal briquettes. It also has a significant pipeline of additional development opportunities in Indonesia.

Under the terms of the strategic alliance, Thiess will provide engineering design, procurement and construction services for the development of Binderless Coal Briquetting plants based on White Energy?s designs. In addition, Thiess will provide White Energy with ongoing operation and maintenance services at those plants.

White Energy is the exclusive worldwide license holder of the Binderless Coal Briquetting process that upgrades relatively poor quality coal to significantly increase its energy efficiency. (denny)
