Widyawan named OPEC governor

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said has appointed Widyawan Prawiraatmadja now the head of the ministry?s Performance Control Unit, Indonesia?s governor for the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
The appointment is effective as of December 2015, the time Indonesia will be officially declared a full member of the organization, according to a source.
Under the OPEC organizational structure, the highest authority is held by the Conference, which is the meeting of all member countries. They usually meet twice a year. The conference is held based on inputs from the Board of Governors, where each member country is represented by its governor. OPEC also has secretary general which handles the daily operation of OPEC headquarters based on directives from the Board of Governors.
