Wijaya Karya led consortium to construct PLTG Kaltim

A consortium of PT Wijaya Karya, PT Mega Eltra and PT Navigat will develop gas power plant PLTG Kaltim with 2x(50-60) MW capacity, belonging to state-owned utility firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), under an EPC contract worth Rp. 925.4 billion.

The appointment was formalized by the Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Decree dated February 7, 2012. Wijaya Karya is getting 46 percent of the total contract, with Mega Eltra and Navigat securing 39 percent and 15 percent, respectively, a statement said.

The power plant is located in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan. The execution of the EPC contract will begin early March with the plant start-up scheduled for June 2013 for Unit 1 and August 2013 for Unit II.

Wijaya Karya will work on the construction which includes the development of gas turbine generator, stack and silencer, balance of plant, fuel system, water treatment plant, waste water treatment plant, power transformer and other supporting equipment.
