Wika and GE sign cooperation agreement

Handry Satriago, CEO of GE Indonesia said the signing of the MoU served as the basis for the establishment of future cooperation between the two companies especially in the energy infrastructure.
He said that GE, which engages in infrastructure development, industrial activities, products and services needed a strategic business partner to further develop its business in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Bintang Perbowo, the presiden director of Wika, said that the MoU was one of several important initiatives taken by the company to achieve its target to become one of major engineering companies in Southeast Asia within the next few years.
At present, Wika has been engaged in a number of energy infrastructure projects in Indonesia either as an EPC contractor or as investor. The EPC projects include the PLTU Amurang coal-fired power plant with 2 x 25 MW in North Sulawesi and the PLTU Asam-Asam coal-fired power plant with capacity of 2 x 65 MW in South Kalimantan.
Meanwhile the investment projects include PLTD Pasanggaran diesel power plant with a capacity of 3x18 MW in Bali, PLTGU Borang gas fired power plant with a capacity of 60 MW in South Sumatra and the PLTU Ketapang coal-fired power plant with a capacity of 2x10 MW in West Kalimantan. (giok)
