Wika builds power plant in Timor Leste

State construction company PT Wijaya Karya is building a diesel fuel-fired power plant in Hera in the northern part of Timor Leste.
The Company?s deputy general manager for energy M. Chusnufam said on Thursday the plant, which would have a capacity of 126MW and cost US$16.2 million, would be ready for full operation by the end of March next year, with the first three units operating at the end of this year.
Chusnufam added Wika was bidding for another diesel fuel-fired plant in Betano in Timor Leste. Wika has passed qualification screening and is waiting for the announcement of the winner of the $20 million project. (giok)
