Speaking following the inauguration of PLTU Amurang power plant in North Sulawesi on Thursday, Wika?s President Director Bintang Perbowo said that the funds would be taken from the company?s capital expenditure which is estimated to reach about Rp 1.7 trillion this year.
Bintang said that the state construction and engineering company is handling the construction of three power plants in East Kalimantan, Jambi and South Kalimantan.
In Kutai regency, East Kalimantan, Wika is building PLTG Tanjung Batu gas-fired power plant which will have capacity of 60 megawatt. To handle this project, the company has established a consortium with PT Mega Eltra and PT Navigat Energy.
?In addition to PLTG Tanjung Batu, we are also building PLTG Jambi. We hope the construction will be completed in the first semester of this year,? Bintang said.
Besides the two power plants, Wika is also completing the construction of PLTU Asam Asam coal fired power plant in South Kalimantan. ?We hope this power plant can be inaugurated in April this year,? he said.
After PLTU Amurang, PLTU Asam Asam is the second power plant built solely by Wika. (*)
