State-owned construction firm PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (IDX: WIKA) said it is nearing completion of Section 2 of the Serang–Panimbang Toll Road in Banten, with the segment expected to be functionally operational during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period.
The Serang–Panimbang Toll Road is a national strategic infrastructure project aimed at improving regional connectivity and supporting economic growth and tourism in Banten Province.
WIKA said Section 2, which connects Rangkasbitung and Cileles, has reached 96.78% physical progress. While the section is targeted to be opened temporarily for holiday traffic in 2026, commercial operations are scheduled to begin in October 2026.
The toll road consists of three sections. Section 1, linking Serang and Rangkasbitung, has been operational since 2021. Meanwhile, Section 3, which connects Cileles and Panimbang, is divided into two packages, with Package 3A reaching 99.78% completion and Package 3B recording 58.95% progress. Full completion of Section 3 is targeted for the second half of 2027.

According to WIKA, the Serang–Panimbang Toll Road is expected to enhance connectivity between urban centers, industrial zones, and key tourism destinations, particularly coastal areas in Banten. Improved access is also expected to support logistics distribution and stimulate the emergence of new economic growth centers.
A feasibility study conducted by the Ministry of Public Works in 2017 projected that the project could contribute between 1% and 1.5% to Banten’s economic growth.
The project aligns with the government’s Asta Cita agenda, particularly the sixth goal, which focuses on promoting equitable development and economic equality through improved interregional connectivity and inclusive regional growth.
WIKA said construction works have included main roadway development, bridges, drainage systems, earthworks, and pavement construction, all conducted in accordance with technical standards and under strict controls on quality, schedule, and costs.
WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito said the company remains committed to completing the project as planned. “WIKA continues to accelerate work and coordinate intensively with all stakeholders so that the Serang–Panimbang Toll Road project can be completed according to the target,” he said.
