Wika's president director Bintang Perbowo said last week that the company was currently preparing a sales and purchase agreement with PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of PLN. He said that electricity price would be Rp 446.14 (1 US$ = Rp 8,784) per kWh excluding fuel price.
The oil-based power plant which has a capacity of 50 megawatt is the first power plant to be built and operated by the company, which has included the power sector in its expansion plan agenda.
The project is built by Wika cooperation with PT Mirlindo Padu Kencana under a partnership in which Wika has 70 percent stake and Mirlindo hold the remaining 30 percent.
Wika operates that plant under Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) scheme for 9 years. (*)
