WIKA to build gas-fired power plant in Riau

PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA) and it business partners will build a gas-fired power plant under a build, operate and own (BOO) contract in Rengat, Riau, Kontan business daily reported on Monday.
For this purpose, WIKA and its partners PT Prastiwahyu Trimitra Enigneering and PT Navigat Energy would set up a consortium to build and operate the power plant, WIKA media relations manager Yuliana Triwijayanti said in Jakarta on Sunday.
She said that WIKA would control a 53 percent stake in the consortium with Naviagat Energy holding 30 percent and Prastiwahyu Trimitra holding the remaining 17 percent. The construction of the plant was begun in August and was scheduled for completion in six months.
The power to be produced from the gas fired power plant would be sold to state electricity company PLN at Rp 335 per KwH. (*)
