Winning bidders for nine oil blocks to be announced later this month: official

The winning bidders for the nine major oil and gas blocks in the Makassar Straits will be announced later this month after the celebration of the country?s August 17 Independence Day, according to a senior official at the ministry of energy and mineral resources.

Staff expert of the ministry Kardaya Warnika told Petromindo.com that a special team would recommend several winning bidders to the director general of oil and gas who would later seek the approval of the minister.

Kardaya said, however, no bidders had been interested on two oil and gas blocks: the Tartitip and Bawean 2.

The government opened the tender for the nine oil and gas blocks in April.(Godang)
