Wintermar acquires PSVs from Greatship

Seabrokers reports that Indonesian offshore vessel owner PT Wintermar has acquired two platform supply vessels (PSV) from Greatship Offshore, both of which have been forward fixed on long term contracts to Marathon Oil Indonesia.
The vessels involved are the 2008 built UT 755LN DP2 Greatship Dhriti purchased for US$28m and the SeaTech designed PSV/ROV Greatship Rohini which is under construction at Colombo Shipyard in Sri Lanka with delivery scheduled for September.
The purchase price of the latter vessel is in the region of US$22-23 million.
The move comes in the wake of recently introduced cabotage rules which dictate that vessels working on long term contract in Indonesian waters must be Indonesian owned with Indonesian flag and crew.(*)
