Wintermar bags $56m contract from Tangguh

Indonesia-listed upstream offshore vessel supplier PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk reported on Friday that its subsidiary PT Wintermar has secured US$56 million contract to provide 2 units of 8,000 BHP Anchor handling, Towing and Supply (AHTS) vessels and 1 unit of Drilling Support Warehouse Barge(DSWB) to support BP Berau Ltd. in its drilling operations in Tangguh, WestPapua.
Both vessels will be DP2 vessels with 100T bollard pull.
AHTS vessels will be used for towing the DSWB and jack-up drilling materials including bulk chemicals, water and diesel fuel to BP's jack-up drilling rig and DSWB facility in Berau Bay.
DSWB will be used for storage of drilling materials required to support the Tangguh exploration and appraisal drilling project in Bintuni Bay, the company said.
?These will be the first 8,000BHP vessels in the Group's fleet, and demonstrates commitment to expand into higher technology vessels to support the growth of the offshore oil and gas industry in Indonesia,? the company said.
Funding will be from a combination of loan and equity. Operations are expected to start in the second semester of 2012 until 2015.
