Witnesses favor suspects in Arutmin case

Three employees of East Kalimantan coal mining firm PT Arutmin who came to the Balikpapan Court Monday as witnesses in a Rp 5.1 billion fraud case gave statement that was in favor of the current suspects, the local Kaltim Post daily reported.

The witnesses Zulkarnaen, Victor Hutubulawan and Supardi said that the delivery receive documents used by suspect Supd, a director at Cakra Inti Pursuma, to collect money from Arutmin were not fake.

But the witnesses said that it was Arutmin staff Maruba Limbong who forced them to fake signature in the documents.

The three suspects including Supd demanded the Court to also detain Maruba.

The case centers in the embezzlement of some Rp 5.1 billion (US$1=Rp 8,800) funds from Arutmin. (*)
