WNTS consortium to sign Gajah Baru gas deals next week

The West Natuna to Singapore (WNTS) consortium, to be represented by Premier Oil, will sign next week two sales and purchase agreements for gas from the Gajah Baru field in Natuna, Riau Islands.
WNTS will sign a 15-20 mmscfd of gas sales and purchase agreement with electricity firm PT Universal Batam Energi, and another 20 mmscfd of gas deal with PT PLN Batam, a subsidiary of state-owned electricity firm PLN.
The two agreements will be signed during the upcoming CEPSI event on October 14-17 in Nusa Dua, Bali.
?Medco (PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk) as a shareholder in Universal Batam Energi will witness the signing of the contract, which will be a long-term contract of up to 20 yaers,? said Medco Director Budi Basuki to Petroindo.com Friday.
Budi added that Universal Batam Energi will also sign a power purchase agreement with PT PLN Batam.
