The local government of Wonogiri regency in Central Java has invited both local and foreign investors to develop gold mines in the regency, Investor Daily reported on Thursday.

The regency’s senior official Sudanu said in Semarang on Wednesday that the Wonogiri administration would provide a number of incentives to investors willing to explore gold deposits in the area.

According to him, a number of locations in the regency’s districts of Selogiri, Purwan and Jatiroto are rich in gold deposits but he said that none of investors have showed interest to carry out exploration activities in the area.

Sudanu said that most of the locations could be accessed through asphalt road and have telecommunication facilities. (*)
