Workers? strike at Adaro?s subcontractor continues

Thousands of workers, who began their sitdown strike on Saturday as a protest over the attack by a group of unidentified men against the leader of the labor unit at the company, went to the local manpower office on Monday to report the alleged intimidation against them.
AM Janatha, a labor leader at the company, was attacked by a group of unidentified men when he just left a meeting with the company?s management. In the meeting, the management proposed an increase in working shift to three shifts from two at present.
Witnesses said that Janathan was hit by the group of unidentified men due to his rude action during the meeting where he scolded down one of the company?s executives.
Meanwhile the company?s management was reported to have taken the case to the local police. Janathan was accused of provoking the workers to go on-strike, which had caused loss not only to the company but also the whole workers.(*)
