Workshop on Tangguh LNG project in Irian Jaya

The regency administration was a co-organizer of the workshop which was held from July 3 to 4, Pertamina said in a statement.
The workshop titled ?Building alliance with the Fak Fak regency administration and people over the Tangguh LNG project in the Berau/ Bintuni gulf? was attended by local governmental officials, councilors, community leaders, religious leaders and non-governmental organization activists.
The workshop aims ?to gather comprehensive information about the local culture and customs to anticipate all problems likely to occur over traditional land right so that the development of the LNG plant project could carried out smoothly in the near future,? the statement said.
The workshop was held to follow up the environmental impact analysis (Amdal) that had been conducted by BP Indonesia, the statement said.
During the workshop, Fak Fak regent Wahidin Puarada called on all concerned parties to use a healthy and positive thinking to produce a social contract which could become the basis for the efforts to develop a better society in the area, the statement said. (Godang)
