Wortel gas production raised up to 50 bbtud

Australia-listed oil, gas firm Cue Energy Resources said that over the course of last month the gas production rate from its Wortel Field has gradually increased up to the current stable rate of approximately 50 billion BTU per day (BBTUD).
Cue said in a press statement on Friday that the rest of its gas production came from Oyong Field. Both of the fields were currently producing the daily contract quantity of 90 bbtud to the power station at Grati.
The Wortel Field is an offshore project, part of Cue's Sampang Production Sharing Contract (PSC), which is located south of Madura island. The PSC contains the Oyong, Wortel and Jeruk discoveries. It is operated by Santos (45%), with partners SPC (40%) and Cue (15%).
Cue?s share of production is 13.5 bbtud (approximately 12.6 million standard cubic feet per day) before production sharing with the Indonesian government.
The Wortel Field commenced gas production on 31st January 2012. Its development, which was sanctioned in November 2010, includes two gas wells, an unmanned wellhead platform and a 10-kilometre gas pipeline to the existing Santos-operated Oyong facilities.
Drilling of the Oyong-11 infill oil production well was completed in February and production from the well has been brought on-stream.
The new production from Oyong-11 has increased current oil production from the field to over 3,000 barrels of oil per day.
Total oil and gas production equates to approximately 2,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day net to Cue before production sharing with the Indonesian government. The well is still cleaning up and production is being optimized.
