WSGRI bags geotechnical engineering contract

Chinese engineering consulting company Wuhan Surveying-Geotechnical Research Institute Co. (WSGRI) of Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC) Group announced on Tuesday it had been awarded with a design contract for overseas geotechnical engineering.
Under the contract awarded on March 14, 2014, WSGRI shall be responsible for design of the slope treatment works under the Banten coal-fired power plant (1?670 MW).
As a newly built plant, the project covers two generating sets, one of which is to be completed under the first phase project. The jobsite is located in the northern coastal area in Suralaya, Serang City of Banten province.
In accordance with the general layout, the flat elevation is 4.5m. After the site is leveling up, an excavation slope (with a total length of 410m and the highest level of 60m) will be created adjacent to the circulating water pump house, the network relay chamber and the GIS power distribution unit in the south of the jobsite.
