Yemeni government okays Bumi Modern's oil drilling

The Yemeni government has approved the proposal submitted by Indonesia's PT Bumi Modern to carry out drilling activities on the company's oil concession in the country, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Thursday.

Ella Veronica, the company's corporate secretary, said in Jakarta on Wednesday that the Yemeni government had issued a written permit to Bumi Modern to carry out a drilling operation on its R-2 oil block in the country.

The Yemeni government had also approved the appointment of Site Group from Bulgaria to carry out the drilling activities.

She said that the Bulgarian company signed the contract to carry out the drilling on Aug 17. (*)
