Youth organization warns Aco not to realize plans to attack Badak NGL

Head of the Pemuda Pancasila youth organization in East Kalimantan Bonar Siambaton warned Aco Abubakar Siddik, a local landlord in the Bontang area, not to realize his plans to attack gas producer PT Badak NGL Co.

Bonar said that the youth organization would surely fight any effort to ruin the provincial assets.

He also called on Aco to back off because his plans would only create instability and jitters in the area.

Aco had earlier vowed to attack and occupy Badak unless the company pays compensation for using his land to be passed through by the company's gas pipeline.

Aco also recently received support from some 30 head of local farming groups.

Aco and his gangs had earlier been involved in a fight with Badak security officers who were trying to put off a fire set up by Aco's men. But Aco insisted that the fire was set up in his territory. (*)
