Zaratek encounters dry hole at three wells in Lhokseumawe

Zaratek NV (Tately) is currently in the process of evaluating the results of exploration work at three oil wells in the Lhokseumawe block, in North Ace, before deciding on whether to proceed with drilling the fourth well.

Hadi Prasetyo, spokesman at the SKSP Migas, the caretaker upstream oil and gas authority, said that the three wells have been declared to be in dry hole condition.

The Candralila, Ratnadewi and Jayarani wells drilled by Zaratek NV in Lhokseumawe block were in dry hole (condition). There?s no plan to drill the fourth well yet, because (the company) will carry out postmortem evaluation first,? Hadi told Petromindo.com Monday.

Hadi added that the rig facility is currently being moved to the Cofiau Block in Papua by Niko Resource, which also has a share in the Lhokseumawe Block, operated by Tately.
