An Indonesian mining company which operates the copper and gold mining, and have a long-term expected mine life followed by processing stockpiles.

To support our EPC Project – Mill Process Fixed Plant Expansion , we require someone who is able to adapt with dynamic and under pressure environment to be carried out with rapid progress, highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the following position :

LEAD ESTIMATING AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT (EPC FIXED PLANT)

(National - Site Based)

Some of your duties will include:

Estimating

• Utilise estimating methods and the expertise of other project professionals to establish project estimates.

• Engage in direct contact with other functional areas, including client and field contractors

• Maintain and support the office estimating database and information such as escalation indices, rate of exchange variation, productivity, etc

• Presentation of the estimates to consortium/ contractor management and to Client Management

• Turnover of the completed and approved estimate to the Project Control team

Change Management

• Capture change triggers from project team, including at meetings

• Coordinate the collection of information regarding the change from all project disciplines

• Coordinate the preparation of the change notice

• Coordinate and the review and approval workflow

• Manage the communication of the change following review

• Closeout the change implementation across all impacted project disciplines

• Maintain change tracking into the approved project tools

What skills and experience do you need?

• Applicants should have a minimum Bachelor degree in Civil/ Economic/ Industrial or Engineering in related discipline with minimum 12 years in the Mill Expansion Processing Plant / EPC Industry or Ore processing experience (where there are conveyors, crushers, lots of concrete works, structural, electrical, etc); Has minimum of 8 years of relevant estimating experience and 4 years of change management experience in supervisory level in similar role as Lead Estimator

• Has some years in site based with demonstrated project management, project delivery related to estimating and change management activities including preconstruction and procurement as Lead Estimator / Senior Estimator; Has site experience where there are multiple contractors do deal with;

• Minimum of two years of experience using any of the Fluor Estimating Systems is preferable;

• Proficient in Ms Project, Ms Office, and Desktop Publishing Package; proficient in Resources Analysis; proficient in Estimating utilizing software such as SAP or other ERP will be additional advantage;

• Broad overview of current project estimating, budgeting and costing, Construction regulations, Workplace Health & Safety regulations, Quality assurance; Operational costs and processes; Specific knowledge of site man hour productivity rates and equipment utilization;

SENIOR ESTIMATOR

(National - Site Based)

Some of your duties will include:

• Works with Project Engineers , Design Teams and other personnel to coordinate acquisition of input information for the estimating process for projects and proposals

• Prepares project estimates using drawings, specifications, scope, basis of design, and other project information as input.

• Prepares services estimates for projects as required to support achievement of project objectives.

• Prepares constructed cost estimates for projects as required to support achievement of project objectives.

• Prepare or arrange for detailed MTO’s (Material take-off) from tender documentation.

• Attend site visit and prepare detailed report of existing local conditions, available facilities and technical resources available in the area.

• Ensure the Estimate is built up systematically and in sufficient detail.  Sufficient explanatory notes are to be included referring the location of supplementary information.

• Prepare or arrange for detailed Vendor / Subcontractor enquiry packages

• Ensure Vendor / Contractor proposals are properly evaluated and the results tabulated in system.

• Assist designated Planner in the preparation of the construction schedule, providing man hours and plant requirement for each activity.

• In conjunction with the Tender Team identify, evaluate and rank risks as well as develop a strategy to manage and mitigate the risks.

• Ensures the Estimate Basis is “Current Cost” by utilizing current labour, staff and all material prices.

• Preparation of commercial and technical clarifications which are to be included in the proposal.

• Manage discipline estimators preparation of direct cost estimates. Ensure that the tenders are methodically built up and with sufficient detail; Assist in completing Client’s pricing and technical tender schedules, and also preparation of the project indirect costs.

• Evaluates historical data, including purchase orders, subcontracts, force reports, and productivity reports and incorporate relevant data into company unit cost, material, and labor factors.

• Actively participate in “Brain Storming” meetings to identify competitive advantages and alternative tender options.

• Utilizes and maintains estimating software programs and systems for the project as well as trains others on how to use the program.

• Maintains files of project estimates and supporting backup documentation for reference during project execution.

• Monitors subcontract and purchase order awards, compares awarded costs to budgeted costs, determines the bases for variances, and adjusts estimating systems, models, and unit pricing to adjust future estimates.

• Reviews design options and recommends best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.

• Maintains relationships in the industry to facilitate the acquisition of estimating data and processes.

• Prepares estimates to support the change management process for projects.

• Works with Project engineers and Project Development team to monitor project implementation for compliance with the basis of the project estimate as required.

• Collaborate with Project Development Dept. for estimating topics, evaluates opportunities for their improvement and advancement, and recommends actions to act upon those opportunities.

What skills and experience do you need?

• Civil Degree or post graduate study in Construction management or related with minimum 12 years in the Mill Expansion Processing Plant / EPC Industry or Ore processing experience (where there are conveyors, crushers, lots of concrete works, structural, electrical, etc); Has minimum of 5 years of relevant estimating experience and 3 years of change management experience in similar role as Senior Estimator

• Responsible to provide key support to the project;

• Provide direct support and governance to project planning/scheduling team on site for setup detail schedule, plan value, progress update and detail look ahead program;

• Provide key support for project planning/scheduling on variation works;

• Provide training delivery on planning/scheduling area and gain sufficient skills to deliver the objectives

What skills and experience do you need?

• Bachelor degree preferable from Mechanical/ Electrical engineering with minimum of 12 years’ experience in project management in Mill Expansion Processing Plant / EPC Industry and minimum of 5 years experiences in supervisory level as Lead Planning & Scheduling

• Proficient in P6 Project Management, Ms. Project, Ms. Office and Desktop Publishing Package; proficient in Construction Method, Resources Analysis and Scheduling, understanding Contract Obligations; Cost control utilizing software such as JDE or other ERP will be additional advantage;

• Have Frontline level operational inspector certificate (POP) or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position;

LEAD COST (EPC FIXED PLANT)

(National - Site Based)

Some of your duties will include:

• Provide budget project in accordance with approved design construction engineering plan; Review progress, control and maintain cost as per budget;

• Reviews expenditures for compliance with cost coding requirements and commitment detail for purchase orders and subcontracts;

• Reviews costs for compliance with the contract, as well as conformance with company policies, procedures, and prime contract terms;

• Performs cost reconciliation for cost reporting systems;

• Prepares presentations for project reviews, client reviews, management reviews, etc.

• Performs cost analysis to validate or modify the cost forecast

• Investigates causes of variances between estimated, committed and actual amounts

• Monitoring and report contractor work on site from cost perspective;

• Reviews invoices of contractors to provide independent judgment for progress reporting and payment;

• Supports initial and ongoing Risk and Contingency Management activities;

• Provide and review weekly and monthly costing report; Provide and communicate the weekly cost report to related department for any possible improvement; check and review daily costing of infrastructure division; review civil works/infrastructure progress and report variance cost against budget;

• Provide forecasting report; set up monthly, yearly budget plan; ensure cost in the right allocation in SAP costing and provide journal report in monthly bases;

• Ensure production data accurately reported for progress; check and review additional work/day work claim;

SENIOR ENGINEER COST (EPC-FIXED PLANT)

Some of your duties will include:

LEAD QUANTITY SURVEYOR (EPC FIXED PLANT)

(National - Site Based)

Some of your duties will include:

• Monitor, analyse, forecast and report on construction contractors installed quantities to ensure that the Contractors are paid for the actual built quantities; Write contractors’ invoices, and coordinate with relevant departments/personnel to obtain or provide the needed data (g. quantity take-offs) for correct and accurate charge of payment amounts and/or for issuing the invoices.

• Support Project Development team & personnel in quantity surveys (quantity take-offs) for the architectural items of the project (whenever needed).

• Review quantity surveying for contractors, and coordinate with relevant personnel for issuing payment invoices, or review, issue, and sign the invoices if auth

• Support Project Development team & personnel in shop drawing for the Civil aspects of the project (whenever needed).

• Meet with project’s contractors to handle any problems or conflicts for smooth flow of work operations.

• Write and submit a report, whenever required, to compare between quantity take-offs of contractors to identify any conflicts or inconsistencies; and submit Cost Control Project Development department for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

• Liaise with the Planning team on-site to provide needed data to support relevant decisions; and obtain needed data about subcontractors’ deals for writing and issuing clients’ invoices.

• Undertake breakdown of Variation Orders (VOs).

• Participate in final inspection and prepare “punch lists”.

• Review P6 schedule progress to ensure that invoiced amounts are in line with actual installed works. 

• Supervise quantity take offs.

• Participate in the preparation of technical information for Field Change Requests and Change Orders.

• Monitor quantity growth and support Trend analysis.

What skills and experience do you need?

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Architectural or Civil/ Structural Engineering with 12 years’ experience in the Mill Expansion Processing Plant / EPC Industry; On-site experience (Construction) is a must;

• Must have had 5 years’ experience in similar role as Lead Quantity Surveyor;

• Familiar with Project management plan & system in Mining Infrastructure activity; Have substantial experience in the Domestic, light industrial construction industry and in particular facility maintenance; Must be knowledgeable in principles, design concepts & operations of various construction field including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation; Ability to read & analyze Architectural/MEP/Structural drawings is required;

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D and other Autodesk Programs, Microsoft Excel and Primavera P6 and other related Quantity Surveying Software. Good in computer applications especially excel;

• Familiar with application of ISO 9001; has experience as Internal Auditor; be able to provide reporting;

• Prior experience in evaluation claims from contractors and responding to contractors contractually;

• Experience working in P6 and establishing and reviewing baseline schedules; Experience in Quantity Take-offs; Experience in Contracts terms and conditions and applying the contract conditions to the measurement of the work; Estimating experience is beneficial;

QUANTITY SURVEYOR

(National - Site Based)

Some of your duties will include:

• Write subcontractors’ and clients’ invoices, and coordinate with relevant departments/personnel to obtain or provide the needed data (g. quantity take-offs) for correct and accurate charge of payment amounts and/or for issuing the invoices.

• Support Project Development team & personnel in quantity surveys (quantity take-offs) for the architectural items of the project (whenever needed).

• Review quantity surveying for subcontractors, and coordinate with relevant personnel for issuing payment invoices, or review, issue, and sign the invoices if auth

• Support Project Development team & personnel in shop drawing for the Civil aspects of the project (whenever needed).

• Communicate project planning issues to mining process operation and or civil section;

• Promote continuous improvement in the design function;

• Provide direct support and governance to project control team on site for budget setup and revision; cost and progress review; month end reporting included contract valuation;

• Monitor utilization and efficiency of equipment which be used for project work; monitor of water management plan; monitoring of clearing progress; monitoring of road maintenance and payload
