The Martabe Gold Mine, located in South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, operates across 646.08 hectares as of December 2024. Since production began on 24 July 2012, the mine has processed over 6 million tonnes of ore annually, producing more than 200,000 ounces of gold and 1–2 million ounces of silver annually.
The Martabe Gold Mine operates under a 30-year Contract of Work (CoW) with the Indonesian Government. Initially spanning 6,560 km² in 1997, the concession area has been refined to 130,252 hectares (1,303 km²), encompassing South Tapanuli, Central Tapanuli, North Tapanuli and Mandailing Natal Regencies.
As of June 2024, the mine’s mineral resources were estimated at 6.1 million ounces of gold and 59 million ounces of silver, while ore reserves were calculated at 3.2 million ounces of gold and 32 million ounces of silver.
The Martabe Gold Mine is currently seeking a qualified professional to join our Mining Department Team, supporting the enhancement of departmental capabilities and the achievement of strategic objectives.
SUPERVISOR – MINING TECHNOLOGY OPERATION (MIN 2505029)
This position will be based at the Martabe Gold Mine Site within the Mining Department and will report directly to the Engineer – Mine Technology Operation.
The Supervisor – Mining Technology Operation is responsible for ensuring the effective operation and value delivery of Mining Technology Assets and the Fleet Management System (FMS) across site operations. Key responsibilities include:
• Oversee the performance and functionality of Mining Technology Assets and Fleet Management System to support optimal mining operations.
• Perform installation, configuration, commissioning, repair, and ongoing support for electronic and microprocessor-based systems, including radio communications equipment, with a focus on timely issue identification and resolution.
• Ensure the accuracy of the High Precision (HP) Fleet Management System by planning, executing, and reviewing Geometry Calibration and Accuracy Tests for HP Excavators in coordination with stakeholders such as Hexagon Mining and the Survey Team.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of network infrastructure at highland sites, including mobile towers, CCTV systems, Wireless Telemetry Systems (WTS), and FMS devices.
• Provide field support for continuous improvement initiatives and mine technology projects.
• Contribute to root cause analysis processes and assist in implementing solutions to improve hardware reliability.
• Demonstrate proactive involvement in safety programs and ensure all tasks are executed in accordance with safety standards.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all work environments, including field areas, offices, and storage facilities.
Candidates for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:
1. Minimum education of Vocational High School or Diploma III. A bachelor’s degree in information technology or electrical engineering is preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in operating Fleet Management Systems (FMS), particularly in hardware and networking aspects.
3. Possession of a trade certificate in one of the following: Auto Electrical, Radio Communications, Electronics, or Industrial Electrical.
4. Additional certification from a recognized Fleet Management System (FMS) vendor is an advantage.
5. Certification in Network Infrastructure or Low Voltage Electrical is also desirable.
6. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
7. Demonstrated experience and understanding of mining business processes.
8. Strong skills in technical reporting and documentation.
9. Familiarity with Mining Operations Technology, Wireless Radio Systems, Fleet Management, and Communication Networks.
10. Hands-on experience with FMS hardware on Volvo A60H Articulated Trucks and Komatsu Hydraulic Excavators.
11. Exposure to Hexagon MineOperate OpPro or Leica Jigsaw Fleet Management Systems.
12. Solid knowledge of equipment specifications and operational capabilities.
13. Excellent communication and coaching skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
14. Possession of a valid car driving license (Category A) is preferred.
