Arup appoints Silvia Halim as Indonesia leader

Arup has appointed Silvia Halim as its Indonesia leader, effective as the company expands its infrastructure and urban development business in the country.
Silvia previously served as Deputy for Infrastructure and Facilities at the Nusantara Capital Authority, where she oversaw infrastructure planning and delivery covering transportation, housing, water, waste, utilities, and social infrastructure.
Her responsibilities also included urban mobility planning, water sensitive city guidelines, and green and smart building standards.
Arup said Silvia will lead the company’s Indonesia operations and business development activities.

Arup Managing Principal for Southeast Asia Lau Ching Luan said Indonesia remains an important market for the company, particularly in infrastructure, urban development, and energy transition projects.
Silvia holds a civil engineering degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and previously held leadership roles in transport and urban infrastructure projects in Indonesia and Singapore.
During her tenure at MRT Jakarta, the company developed Indonesia’s first mass rapid transit system.
Arup is a multinational professional services firm headquartered in London, United Kingdom. Founded by Ove Arup in 1946, the company provides engineering, design, planning, and consulting services for the built environment.
