Augur expects estimate for Randu Kuning deposit in June

Augur Resources said that sufficient drilling had been undertaken in Wonogiri project to allow for the commencement of a maiden resource estimate for Randu Kuning deposit that was expected to be completed prior to late June 2012.
The company said in a press statement on Monday that metallurgical work on the sulphide zone of the mineralization has been undertaken during the first quarter this year and continued to return extremely encouraging results with the recovery of gold ranging between 78.6% to 88.7% with a mean of 94.1%. Work has commenced on leach work and gravity recovery of gold from the oxide zone.
During the quarter first pass drilling was also undertaken on a number epithermal targets in the north of the Wonogiri project area. The epithermal targets are quartz gold / silver bearing veins which have been identified proximal to the Randu Kuning deposits.
Holes WDD025, WDD028 and WDD032 tested a vein system approximately 190 meters south-southeast of Randu Kuning. Each of these holes intersected highly anomalous zones with WDD025 intersecting 35.7 meters at 0.34 g/t gold from 145.8 meters, WDD028 returned 16.5 meters at 0.27 g/t gold from 170.0 meters and WDD032 intersected a number of mineralized zones including 2.0 meters at 0.88 g/t gold and 9.5 g/t silver from 132.0 meters, 5.0 meters at 0.41 g/t gold from 140.0 meters and 1.2 meters at 0.97 g/t gold and 1.8 g/t silver from 175.0 meters.
Further testing is required to determine if the mineralization detected in holes WDD025, WDD028 and WDD032 are a continuation of the main Randu Kuning mineralization.
At the Gawe prospect (approximately 385 meters south east of Randu Kuning), three holes were drilled to test a zone of gold anomalous rock chips and trenches.
Holes WDD035, WDD039 and WDD043 all intersected multiple zones of gold ? silver mineralization. Mineralized intervals in hole WDD035 included 1.0 meters at 1.01 g/t gold and 11.0 g/t silver from 213.0 meters and 3.0 meters at 0.43 g/t gold and 1.7 g/t silver from 219.0 meters.
Hole WDD039 returned 0.50 meters at 3.35 g/t gold and 2.6 g/t silver from 27.0 meters, 4.0 meters at 0.67 g/t gold from 36.5 meters and 2.0 meters at 0.73 g/t gold and 11.6 g/t silver from 114.0 meters.
Hole WDD043 returned 5.0 meters at 0.42 g/t gold and 2.2 g/t silver from 97.0 meters and 3.7 meters at 0.55 g/t gold and 1.3g/t silver from 119.0 meters.
The significance of these intersections are that they show that shallow gold mineralization occurs beyond the Randu Kuning prospect and potential for additional mineralization in a number of untested structural targets.
