ASX-listed mineral miner Augur Resources Ltd announced favorable results of its drilling in three holes WDD024, WDD025 and WDD026 from the Wonogori project in Central Java.
Augur controls 51% interest in the project which could rise to 80% with the expenditure of a further US$2 million by December 2012.
Drilled to test down dip extension of mineralization below WDD017 (55.0 meters at 0.41 g/t gold and 0.16% copper), hole WDD024 intersected wide zones of mineralization including 94.0 meters at 0.37 g/t gold and 0.21% copper from 95.0 meters and a further 18.0 meters at 0.21 g/t gold and 0.17% copper from 194.0 meters.
The results are important as they show the continuation of mineralization to the north and the continued potential for mineralization at depth. Holes WDD024 and WDD017 are located in the north of the Randu Kuning prospect.
Also of note is that hole WDD024 intersected zones of anomalous molybdenum and copper bearing bornite sulphides. This is the first hole where bornite has been identified in this drill program.
Hole WDD025 meanwhile was drilled over 175 meters south of the southern most holes at Randu Kuning snd intersected wide zones of gold mineralization which include 35.7 meters at 0.34 g/t gold from 145.8 meters and 9.1 meters at 0.53 g/t gold. This hole is significant as it shows that the southern extent of the Randu Kuning mineralization may not be closed off by the earlier drilling and the potential for significant mineralization beyond that already identified is high.
Hole WDD026 was drilled to test the continuation of mineralization down dip of hole WDDO15 and WDD021. The most significant interval of mineralization in the hole was 101.8 meters at 0.43 g/t gold and 0.15% copper from 143.0 meters.
