Blue Scope to produce 300,000 tons of steel sheets in 2012

A subsidiary of one of the world's largest steel sheet producers, PT Blue Scope Steel Indonesia plans to produce up to 300,000 tons of steel sheets this year, tripling its record production of 100,000 tons last year.
Blue Scope Steel Indonesia Country Vice President for Corporate and External Affairs Lucia Karina stated that production increase is needed to meet the growing national demand, since all of the products will be allocated for domestic market.
"Our products are manufactured in our factories in Cilegon and Surabaya," she said on Wednesday, adding that the company has launched another flat steel product. "The product, branded Clean Colorbond, is completed with Thermatec technology, as part of our commitment to offer innovative flat steel products for our customers," she said.
The Clean Colorbond, with Thermatech sun-reflecting technology, will be segmented for the construction business, as the product deployment relates to roof insulation to help reduce building rooms temperature all year round, saving energy consumption for air conditioners.
