Centurion Minerals Ltd. said that it was conducting a drilling program using a diamond drill rig in the Zulham epithermal gold prospect within the Banda Raya property in Northern Sumatra .
The company said in a press statement on Wednesday that the drilling program would consist of a minimum of 1,500 meters (five to six holes to a depth of approximately 250 m) collared from a location where hand-held mobile scout drilling has returned encouraging assay results including a massive vuggy silicified breccia intercept from hole ZWDH-15 that returned 5 m@ 2.81 g/t Au from surface (including 2.2 m @ 5.47 g/t Au.
The diamond drill program has been designed to test the gold-bearing vuggy breccias for high-grade zones and to intersect a postulated, separate vuggy breccia, wherein three boulders on the ridge crest previously reported gold values of 20 g/t, 6 g/t and 3 g/t Au. Highlights of previously announced hand-held drill hole results from the Zulham prospect include: 5 m @ 2.76 g/t Au from hole ZWDH-08; and 3.2 m @ 1.79 g/t Au from hole ZWDH-09
Gold mineralization in the Zulham, Simpang Tiga and Keladi prospects of the Banda Raya property have been interpreted to span approximately 2.5 kilometers. These prospects lie along the southern rim of a 4 km diameter circular feature, which is criss-crossed by the 20-km long Miwah-Menawan gold lineament extending from the 3.14 M oz Miwah high-sulfidation epithermal gold deposit in the west to the Menawan porphyry-type mineralization in the east.
