Lead and zinc miner, PT Dairi Prima Mineral - a joint venture of PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk and state miner PT Aneka Tambang Tbk - said the company is reassessing plan to commence production this year due to the issuance of ministerial regulation No. 7 requiring the miners to build mineral processing and refinery facilities to upgrade the added value of mineral.

?We are assessing the impact of the regulation to our production plan. We may reschedule the plan for the first production,? a source of the company told Petromindo.com.

The company has earlier said that it would begin commercial production in the fourth quarter of 2012 with the expected output of about 120,000 tons of zinc and 60,000 tons of lead in the first stage.

The company plans to sell its production to Europe. Japan, South Korea and China. The ministerial regulation on upgrading added-value of mineral through refining process stipulates that starting in June this year the export of raw material or mineral ores is prohibited.
