Deputy Minister Energy: Limiting export is the solution

Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Widjajono Partowidagdo said that one of the solutions for the minerals mining companies which are affected by the banning of mineral ore export in May 2012 is to limit its export of the mineral ores down to the level before 2009.

Widjajono said that many mineral mining companies increased their production as much as possible for export after Government issued Mining Law No 4/2009 which stipulates the banning of mineral ores by 2014.

"After 2009 there are so many mineral mining companies who exploited the minerals ore as much as they can for export, and ore export has increased eight to nine times since then," said Widjajono to Petromindo.com and reporters. "So that is why we issue the Permen number 07 year 2012 as a shock therapy," added Widjajono.
