Freeport?s gold mine in Papua admitted that the company's operation is still halted as of Tuesday pending results of the ongoing negotiations between the company and workers? union.

?We hope to resolve the problem soon thanks to good communication with workers? union. We temporarily still halt the operation,? Sinta Sirait, Director-Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Freeport Indonesia said on Tuesday.

Sinta however declined to comment on issues being discussed with the workers? union, saying ?the dialog process with the workers? union is running well.?

The company halted operation since February 23 due to the disturbances caused by some of the returning workers. This happened only about two months after it resumed operation in late December when an agreement was reached between the workers? union and the company to resolve a three-month long workers strike.
