GGGI Indonesia, SMI sign MoU to boost sustainable infrastructure and green financing

Global Green Growth Institute Indonesia (GGGI Indonesia) has on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with state infrastructure financing and advisory PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (SMI) to strengthen collaboration in advancing sustainable infrastructure development and green financing in Indonesia.
In a social media statement on Thursday, GGGI Indonesia said the partnership is aimed at strengthening alignment between policy support and sustainable financing to help accelerate Indonesia’s energy transition. The cooperation also seeks to unlock impactful investments that support inclusive and low-carbon economic growth.
Through the MoU, both parties plan to enhance coordination with development partners and translate strategic collaboration into concrete programs and projects that contribute to Indonesia’s long-term sustainable development goals.

GGGI Indonesia is the country office of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), an intergovernmental organization dedicated to supporting developing countries in achieving green growth by combining economic development, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion. In Indonesia, GGGI works closely with government institutions, the private sector, and development partners on policy support, project development, and investment facilitation in areas such as renewable energy, climate finance, sustainable landscapes, and green infrastructure.
The institute said the partnership with SMI represents an important step in strengthening Indonesia’s green financing ecosystem and accelerating the implementation of sustainable development initiatives nationwide.
