Oil company YPF Maxus Sumatera, a production sharing contractor of the state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina, has redeemed its fuel allotment from Pertamina, and pays the latter one-month in advance, according to Pertamina official.
Spokesman for Pertamina production sharing management division Haryanto was quoted by the Neraca daily as saying that Maxus had always followed the ruling issued by the government.
Haryanto said that Maxus had already redeemed 4,500 kilo liter of its 6,000 kilo liter diesel fuel allotment. The fuel is used for sea transportation.
The Neraca daily earlier reported that many huge companies including Maxus Sumatera had not redeemed their fuel allotment from Pertamina, raising suspicion that they purchase their fuel needs through the ordinary gas stations which sold fuel products at heavily subsidized price. The paper said that out of the more than 211 thousand kilo liter allotment for the month of April, only around 127 thousand kilo liter had been redeemed.
But Haryanto denied this report, saying that it was impossible for Maxus or other production sharing companies to purchase their fuel needs out of Pertamina because the latter had always make monitoring.(*)
