The government has revised the regulation on tariff of non-tax receivable with royalties for gold, silver and copper remained unchanged.

The government regulation No.9/2012 issued on January 12 says royalty for gold is still 3.75 percent per kilogram of sales, silver with 3.25 percent per kilogram and 4 percent per tonne for copper.

Such royalty is equal to the previous government regulation (PP) No.45/2003.

The regulation says the royalty for tin would be 3 percent per ton, bauxite of 3.75 percent per ton and the diamond with 6.5 percent of royalty per carat.

The regulation also imposed royalties for new 29 mining products, increasing total number of royalty-imposed minerals to 66. The previous regulation imposed the royalty for only 37 minerals.

Director General of Coal and Mineral at the Mineral and Energy Resources Ministry, Thamrin Sihite, as quoted by Bisnis Indonesia said that the office was optimistic to meet the targeted royalty of Rp108.22 trillion in 2012 with the additional of new minerals in the regulation. (*)
