PT Pertamina EP said it has discovered a new oil well in the Abab structure in South Sumatra with initial production potential of 505 barrels of oil per day.
The well, named ABB-145, is located in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (PALI) regency and was drilled by the company’s Adera Field under its Zona 4 operations.
An initial flow test conducted on March 1 showed oil flow of 505 barrels per day and gas output of about 5.096 million standard cubic feet per day, based on a 13 mm choke.
After further testing, the well is expected to produce about 129 barrels of oil per day and 1.8 million standard cubic feet per day of gas under stable operating conditions.

General Manager Zona 4 Djudjuwanto said the well is part of the company’s development drilling program.
The ABB-145 well was spudded on Jan. 31, with drilling and completion completed on Feb. 28.
The well location was determined using 3D seismic data acquired in 2023, combined with data from existing wells including ABB-140 and ABB-143.
Senior Manager Subsurface Development and Planning Reza Nur Ardianto said the identification of the well location was based on integrated subsurface analysis.
