State oil and gas Pertamina is planning to drill between 30 and 40 wells nationwide this year as part of its efforts to increase its oil and gas resources, a senior Pertamina official said.

FX Sujanto, senior advisor to Pertamina's upstream vice president, said on Tuesday the state company had allocated Rp 200 billion (US$1=Rp 11,288) for the drilling activities.

The drilling activities would be conducted in its state company's fields in Jambi, South Sumatra, West Java and East Java, Sujanto said in his speech during the Second Regional Seminar on Deepwater Sedimentation of Southeast Asia. (Alex)
