PHM brings second Sisi Nubi platform onstream

PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) has brought the WPS-5 platform of the Sisi Nubi Area of Interest project onstream in the Mahakam Delta offshore East Kalimantan, the company said.

The platform began production on Feb. 23, 2026, covering first gas from two new wells, SS-505 and SS-504, as well as testing of production facilities and pipeline networks. The start up of WPS-5 follows the earlier onstream of WPS-4 on Dec. 4, 2025.

Combined wellhead gas production from the two platforms has reached about 45 million standard cubic feet per day.

The Sisi Nubi AOI 1-3-5 project is part of field development efforts in the Mahakam Working Area to sustain output and support national gas supply. Of the six platforms planned under the project, two are now onstream, one is in preparation for well intervention and connection, and two others are in the drilling stage.

Well SS-505 began flowing after a clean up process conducted on Feb. 21 to 22, 2026, reaching initial production of 12 mmscfd before being stabilized at around 10 to 11 mmscfd. Well SS-504 started its clean up phase on Feb. 23 to 24 and reached 11.4 mmscfd during testing.

PHM is the operator of Mahakam PSC block. PHM is a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia, which in turn, is a subsidiary of Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE).
