Australia-listed firm Sihayo Gold Limited said it has successfully completed an infill diamond drilling program on the Sambung Resources with the aim of upgrading the JORC Compliant Inferred Resource.
The company said in a press statement on Monday that between October 2011 and March 2012, an infill diamond drilling program comprising 56 holes for 5,455m was completed on the Sambung resource with the aim of upgrading the JORC Compliant Inferred Resource of 123,200 ounces Gold @ 2.2 g/t Au to the Indicated Resource status.
The drilling results included: SAM DD086 15m @ 4.26 g/t Au from 57m, SAMDD094 6.85m @ 3.35 g/t Au from 83m, SAM DD102 3.2m @ 9.18 g/t Au from 6m, SAMDD111 6.4m @ 3.6 g/t Au from lim, SAMDD119 9m @ 4.64 g/t Au from 33m, SAMDD124 6.55m @ 5.59 g/t Au from 75m
It also stated that encouraging zones of silver mineralization had been delineated, including:SAM DD092 7.85m @ 22.46 g/t Ag from 36m, SAMDD096 14.15m @ 48.1 g/t Ag from 75.9m, SAM DD117 6.0m @ 20.0 g/t Ag from 71m
Resource Consultants (Runge Limited) are scheduled to release an updated JORC Compliant Resource report for the Sambung resource in May 2012. The updated JORC Compliant Resource report will be included in Definitive Feasibility Study.
It said that ongoing resource extension drilling provided potential to significantly increase the size of the Sambung resource.
The current Sihayo-Sambung JORC Compliant Resource of 16.3Mt at 2.7 g/t Au for 1.425 Moz Gold lies on about 2.25km of a 5.5km long trend of gold mineralization that has been defined by surface exploration work. Gold within the Sihayo-Sambung Resource is contained within ?Jasper? that has replaced calcareous stratigraphy.
