Sumatra copper secures 20 year mining lease for Tembang project

Australian-listed miner Sumatra Copper & Gold Plc announced that the company has secured exploitation IUP for its 100 percent-owned Tembang project, paving way for mining operations and production activities to start at the location.

It said that the Musi Rawas Regency in South Sumatra has granted a 20 year mining lease for the Tembang project.

"Following approval of the Tembang project?s environmental permitting ('AMDAL') in March 2012 and today?s Mining Lease approval, the Tembang permitting process is on schedule. We will now focus on the final permitting requirement, the forestry conversion process, which we expect to complete in the second half of 2012." Sumatra Managing Director Julian Ford said.
