Timah plans to explore potential tin resources in Myanmar

Indonesia's largest tin producer and exporter PT Timah Tbk plans to explore tin potentials in Myanmar as part of its move to expand its tin resources.
The company has approached the geology agency at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM) to also establish government to government link to support its move.
?We do have a plan to expand to Myanmar. We have visited Myanmar together with the Geology Agency of the ESDM Ministry,? President Director of PT Timah Tbk Wachid Usman told Petromindo.com.
Wachid said it eyes few blocks in Myanmar that it is interested in. However, he declined to specify the areas.
Head for Geology Agency of ESDM R. Sukhyar confirmed about the visit to Myanmar. The visit was aimed to seek investment potentials in resources sector in the country.
According to Sukhyar, Myanmar has non-mineral, mineral and oil-gas potentials that could be explored and exploited.
?Myanmar has large tin deposits as well as gas potentials. Indonesia companies need to consider entering Myanmar. The government plays its part through conducting government to government talks,? he said.
