PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (IDX: WSKT) booked Rp3.1 trillion (US$179.2 million) in new contracts during the first quarter of 2026, with government projects accounting for the majority of the order intake.

The state owned construction company said central government projects contributed 60.2% of new contract value, followed by private sector projects at 17.1%, subsidiaries at 13.7%, and regional government projects at 8.9%.

By business segment, connectivity infrastructure projects accounted for 46% of total new contracts, while water infrastructure contributed 33.9% and building projects 6.3%.

Projects secured during the quarter included post disaster area rehabilitation works in Aceh Tamiang, North Aceh and East Aceh, as well as emergency disaster response projects covering roads and bridges in Aceh Tengah.

Waskita also recorded overseas contract additions through work on the Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport terminal project in Timor-Leste. The company had started expansion works for the airport project last year.

Ermy Puspa Yunita, corporate secretary of Waskita Karya, said the first quarter performance provided a positive start for maintaining sustainable business performance throughout the year.

She said the company remains selective in choosing projects and is avoiding investment based projects while prioritizing contracts with monthly payment schemes and advance payments.

Waskita said it remains optimistic about securing more contracts this year, supported by an increase in Indonesia’s Public Works Ministry budget allocation for 2026 to Rp118.5 trillion ($6.85 billion), up from the initial indicative ceiling of Rp70.86 trillion ($4.10 billion).
