An Indonesian mining company which operates the copper and gold mining and have a long-term expected mine life followed by processing stockpiles.
To support our expansion project in Process Analytical Metallurgy - Fixed Plant Operations area, we are looking for highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the following position :
SENIOR METALLURGIST - ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROL
(National - Site Based)
The essential duties, included but not limited to:
• Develop, implement, monitor, evaluate, tuning, and do continuous improvement of advanced process control philosophy that ranging from Primary Crusher, OLC System, Stockpile Management, SAG Mill system, Pebble Crusher, Ball Mill, Flotation, Thickener, and Filtration.
• Collaborating with the instrumentation team in maintaining all infrastructures that support the advanced process control system ranging from various sensors, camera, AMDEL, ANSTAT, PSI, regulatory control, fuzzy logic, PI system, etc.
• Maintaining & Auditing of the process control environment, identifying process control performance stabilisation, optimisation, and constraint opportunities.
• Responsible for plant data analysis and visualization.
Required technical skills, training and experience:
• Physics or Chemical Engineering background that familiar with Process Control.
• Has 8-10 years working experience in the same industry in related scope of work, and at least 3 years as Senior Metallurgist Advanced Process Control;
• Familiar with solid foundation of mineral processing and solid foundation of process control.
• Highly organized and proactive team player with ability to multi-task.
• Strong analytical skills with sound of judgement and decision-making ability.
• Strong work ethic, coupled with a sense of urgency and ability to get things done.
• Superior interpersonal skills and an ability to work with people at all levels.
SENIOR/ METALLURGIST UPSTREAM
(National - Site Based)
Some of your duties will include:
• Direct supervision of Metallurgists and Metallurgical Laboratory Supervisor; manages activities of Metallurgists and Metallurgical Technicians through regular meetings;
• Coordinate and manage the work directly with the Upstream stakeholders and Senior Process Operations personnel in Grinding Optimisation. This includes but is not limited to:
• Maintains contact with Process Operations and Mine personnel in aligning production strategy with weekly production forecast generated by Mine Engineering
• Oversees developmental metallurgical testing and analysis; reviews metallurgical test results; resolves metallurgical problems including method development when needed.
• Prepares annual plans and budgets for contracted services, consultant, and project under the Grinding Improvement program
• Ensure explanation in daily production recorded correctly in the Flash Report
• Report Critical Variability Control of Grinding Circuit performance in daily basis
• Daily monitoring of: Crushing - Grinding circuit KPI’s (throughput), Advance Process Control (SCS logic performance) and also Steel and Liner Consumables.
• Troubleshooting plant performance issues;
• Conducting circuit test work and plant surveys in the primary crushing, ore flow and grinding plant circuits to quantify impact of potential or initiated changes within the circuit; this includes the following discipline areas: Crushing - Grinding circuit KPI (throughput), Advance Process Control, Steel and Liner Consumables.
• Identify, investigate and recommend circuit optimisation opportunities and initiatives for implementation via Process Operations and Maintenance as appropriate; this includes the following discipline areas: Crushing - Grinding circuit KPI (throughput), Advance Process Control, Steel and Liner Consumables.
• Assist in implementation of operational and capital initiatives as required by Process Operations and Maintenance.
• Monitors and maintains performance of plant stream analyzers in the concentrator.
• Analysis of plant and mine operating data to identify potential opportunities for revenue improvement and cost savings initiatives.
What skills and experience do you need?
• A tertiary degree in Metallurgy or relevant engineering discipline with minimum 10 years’ experience in the mining and mineral processing industry are necessary.
• Has minimum 3 years’ experience working in similar role as Senior Metallurgist Upstream with minimum 10 years’ experience in the mining and mineral processing industry are necessary.
• Has minimum 4-5 years’ experience working in similar role as Metallurgist Upstream with minimum 7 years’ experience in the mining and mineral processing industry are necessary.
• Proven track record in technical project evaluation, management and control is essential;
• Proven knowledge of mineral processing, particularly in grinding and base metals beneficiation techniques is essential; Has Technical knowledge of mining/processing processes and systems; Has Broad understanding of geology, mining and processing technical issues and operating processes/systems;
• Has frontline level operational inspector certificate (POP) or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position.Certifications;
• Strong leadership and organizational, scheduling & time management skills; Ability to work both independently and as a team player and thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment; Ability to communicate well, and work productively with internal and external individuals; A commitment to safety and a desire to maintain our Indonesian mining operations to world class international safety standards;
• Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.
SENIOR/ METALLURGIST DOWNSTREAM
(National - Site Based)

METALLURGIST - LABORATORY
(National - Site Based)
The essential duties, included but not limited to:
• Responsible to monitor plant performance, plan and direct activities related to the upstream and downstream area. Also assist in cost and revenue improvement projects as directed by the Sr. Metallurgist.
• Act as Metallurgist member of the Metallurgical and Technical Process Group supporting and coordinating with the operational team in safety practices, operational aspects as directed by the senior Metallurgist and covered by the metallurgical and technical services group.
• Position physical responsibility boundaries of this role include primary crusher, OLC + Tripper, SAG Mills, Ball Mills, Pebble Crushers, Pebble Screens, Cyclone Feed Pumps, Hydro-cyclones.
• The position incumbent is expected to work closely with Senior Metallurgist and related Senior Process Operations personnel to provide daily operational support to assist in identification, investigation, and implementation of production and cost improvements.
• Downstream interactions will be required with Mine Engineering, Geology and operations personnel for ore body characterization and throughput forecasting.
• Cross department interactions will also be required with the SCM Purchasing for consumables forecasting, equipment parts tracking and with Contract Support for contracted project related services

METALLURGIST - PROD ACCOUNTING & DATA ANALYSIS
(Site Based)
• To provide various production reports, manage & control production database, ensure all data recorded are correct & trustworthy, and perform data & statistical analysis in Process Department;
• Generate various regular production reports, i.e. daily production report, weekly production report, monthly production reconciliation, yearly production report, etc. on time.
• Perform metallurgical balance for ore, concentrate, and tails in daily basis by using a designated software & system.
• Monitor the quality of sampling system and instrumentation devices related with the metallurgical balance
• Regularly check all assay results to ensure the balance generated is trustworthy and unbiased
• Do monthly production reconciliation ranging from executing sampling program & perform reconciliation calculation
• Do quality check for all production data recorded into a database
• Manage and control the database
• Perform data and statistical analysis as requested by various stakeholders.
What skills and experience do you need?
• A tertiary degree in Metallurgy or relevant engineering discipline and a minimum 5 years’ experience in the mining and mineral processing industry are necessary.
• Has minimum 3 years’ experience working in similar role as Metallurgist – Production Accounting & Data Analysis;
• Proven knowledge and competency in Data Analysis & Statistics; Knowledge and competency in mineral processing industry; Experience in formulating, planning, and leading complex projects and work programs; In depth knowledge of comminution, flotation, and dewatering process; In depth knowledge of metallurgical accounting philosophy;
• Minimum has frontline level operational inspector certificate (POP) or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position.Certifications;
• Strong leadership and organizational, scheduling & time management skills; Ability to work both independently and as a team player and thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment; Ability to communicate well, and work productively with internal and external individuals; A commitment to safety and a desire to maintain our Indonesian mining operations to world class international safety standards;
