About TIS Energy

TIS Energy is a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) Contractor under the supervision of Special Task Force of Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas), operating in Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas sector. The company manages two blocks – Blora and Sebuku – and was recently awarded the Perkasa Block. TIS Energy is consistently committed to safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations.

Currently we are hiring for the following positions:

1. Sr. Geophysicist (Direct Contract)

Sr. Geophysicist is responsible for leading and conducting geophysical studies to support exploration, appraisal, and development activities. The role involves integrating seismic, geological, and petrophysical data to evaluate subsurface structures, identify hydrocarbon prospects, and support field development and reservoir management decisions. The position requires strong technical expertise, sound interpretation judgment, and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to optimize exploration and production outcomes.

The scope of work includes (but is not limited to):

1) Technical & Analytical

• Conduct and lead 2D and 3D seismic interpretation for exploration, appraisal, and development projects.

• Integrate seismic data with geological, geochemical, and petrophysical information to develop subsurface models.

• Perform seismic attribute analysis, AVO, inversion, and depth conversion to characterize reservoirs and identify drilling targets.

• Participate in prospect generation, risk assessment, and volumetric estimation of hydrocarbons.

• Evaluate and QC seismic data acquisition, processing, and reprocessing workflows.

• Provide technical input for well planning, including target definition, well trajectory, and prognosis.

• Contribute to field development planning, reservoir monitoring, and production optimization.

• Support exploration portfolio management, resource classification, and reporting according to company and regulatory standards (e.g., SKK Migas).

2) Project & Team Collaboration

• Work closely with geologists, reservoir engineers, and petrophysicists to ensure integrated subsurface evaluations.

• Mentor and coach junior staff, sharing best practices and promoting technical excellence.

• Present technical evaluations and recommendations to management, partners, and regulatory bodies.

• Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and JV partners when required.

3) Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and SKK Migas regulations.

• Prepare and submit technical documentation, reports, and presentations in a timely and accurate manner.

The position requires (but is not limited to) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.

• Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) is preferred for candidates with research or advanced interpretation experience.

• Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in geophysical interpretation within the upstream oil & gas industry.

• Proven track record in both exploration and development projects (onshore/offshore).

• Experience with Indonesian basins and regulatory environment (SKK Migas) is highly desirable.

• Proficient in industry-standard software such as Petrel, Kingdom, Hampson-Russell, Geoframe, or equivalent.

• Strong understanding of seismic interpretation, attribute analysis, AVO, inversion, and depth conversion techniques.

• Familiar with structural and stratigraphic interpretation, fault and horizon mapping, and prospect maturation workflows.

• Experience in quantitative interpretation (QI) and integration with geological and reservoir data.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills (English and Bahasa Indonesia).

• Effective team player with mentoring and leadership capabilities.

• Proactive, adaptable, and able to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.

 

2. Sr. Geologist (Direct Contract)

Sr. Geologist is responsible for leading geological studies and interpretations to support both exploration and development activities. This role involves evaluating subsurface data to identify and assess hydrocarbon opportunities, constructing geological models, and supporting field development and reservoir management. The position requires a solid understanding of stratigraphy, sedimentology, and structural geology, combined with practical experience in well planning, reservoir characterization, and prospect generation.  Sr. Geologist works closely with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and petrophysicists to ensure integrated subsurface evaluations that drive exploration success and production efficiency.

The scope of work includes (but is not limited to):

1) Exploration Activities

• Conduct regional and prospect-level geological studies to identify new exploration opportunities.

• Integrate geological, geophysical, geochemical, and petrophysical data for lead and prospect generation.

• Develop play concepts, depositional models, and basin evaluations to support exploration strategy.

• Prepare well proposals, drilling prognosis, and post-well evaluations.

• Assess hydrocarbon systems, including source rock, reservoir, seal, and trap analysis.

• Contribute to resource estimation, risk analysis, and ranking of prospects.

• Support new venture evaluations and participation in block bidding rounds.

2) Development & Production Activities

• Conduct reservoir and field-scale geological interpretation to support development planning and production optimization.

• Integrate core, well log, and seismic data to develop and update geological and static reservoir models.

• Participate in well planning, drilling, and geosteering operations to ensure optimal reservoir penetration.

• Analyze well results and integrate findings into updated subsurface models.

• Collaborate with reservoir engineers for reserves estimation, field development planning, and production forecasting.

• Identify infill drilling opportunities and contribute to mature field rejuvenation studies.

3) Project & Team Collaboration

• Work in close coordination with geophysicists, petrophysicists, and reservoir engineers to ensure coherent subsurface interpretations.

• Mentor and coach junior staff, fostering technical growth and knowledge transfer.

• Prepare and present technical reports, maps, cross-sections, and recommendations to management, JV partners, and SKK Migas.

• Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and joint venture partners as required.

4) Compliance & Data Management

• Ensure all technical work and documentation comply with company standards and SKK Migas requirements.

• Maintain organized and updated geological databases, maps, and interpretations.

• Adhere to company’s HSE and ESG standards in all exploration and operational activities.

The position requires (but is not limited to) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, or related field.

• Postgraduate degree preferred, especially with specialization in petroleum geology or sedimentology.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in upstream oil & gas geology, covering both exploration and development.

• Strong background in Indonesian petroleum basins (onshore and offshore).

• Proven experience in prospect generation, well planning, reservoir characterization, and field development.

• Proficient in geological interpretation and modeling software such as Petrel, Kingdom, or GeoFrame.

• Strong understanding of stratigraphy, sedimentology, structural geology, and basin analysis.

• Skilled in well log correlation, mapping, cross-section construction, and facies modeling.

• Experience integrating geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data for static model building.

• Knowledge of reserves classification (PRMS/SKK Migas guidelines) and field development planning.

• Excellent analytical and interpretation skills with strong attention to detail.

• Clear communication and presentation abilities (English and Bahasa Indonesia).

• Effective collaborator within multidisciplinary teams.

• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.

3. Sr. Reservoir Engineer (Direct Contract)

Sr. Reservoir Engineer is responsible to performs reservoir modelling studies in order to estimate ultimate recoveries of hydrocarbons, expected recovery factors, and related subsurface risk assessments. Integrate reservoir fluid flow models, geoscience, and well engineering data to identify opportunities that will maximize the economic recovery of hydrocarbons. Construct and maintain analytical and numerical software-based reservoir simulation models for reservoir performance analysis and prediction. Select and optimize appropriate recovery processes (secondary, EOR) for given reservoirs. Develops a comprehensive reservoir management plan that includes implementing reservoir monitoring and surveillance programs. Predict reserves and production performance for infill well proposals and completion activities.

The scope of work includes (but is not limited to):

• Design and implement programs solutions for depletion strategies, reservoir performance analysis and field development plans

• Provide reservoir engineering input to field development plan

• Plan and monitor the reservoir activities, production (operations) data related to oil/ gas reservoir management

• Provide input for well construction, prepare requirements for well construction, develop well designs for new wells, and provide technical assistance to drilling staff to ensure that each well is completed in a safe and efficient manner

• Plan, manage and ensure reservoir engineering activities to support and optimize production of operating fields e.g. well testing, reservoir pressure acquisition, well performance evaluation, development well proposals

• Conducts reservoir engineering studies using appropriate and up-to-date techniques including, but not limited to reservoir simulation, material balance, decline curve analysis, well test analysis, PVT and SCAL data analysis, EOR, CCUS, and unconventional methods

• Analyze and interpret information from the field using suitable reservoir engineering tools, such as well test evaluation programs, reservoir simulation software, or integrated production modelling for making recommendations aiming at optimizing production and supporting field development

• Prepare annual volumes and expenses for budgeting. Monitor and analyze well tests and production curves. Gather, perform calculations and analyze data such as well tests, fluid levels, bottom-hole pressures, and decline curves to assure efficient producing and equipment utilization

The position requires (but is not limited to) the following qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor in Petroleum Engineering/Reservoir Engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in oil and gas industry.

• Fluency in both spoken and written English.

• Experience in the gas production block in the region would be advantageous.

• Liaise with regulatory body & partner in proposing technical work program & budget related to subsurface engineering work.

• Possess strong analytical skill and effectively communicate technical data

• Ability to interact effectively in diverse team environments, especially in multinational environments.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a team player.

• Proactive, meticulous, responsible and good working attitude.

• Can adapt in fast-pace working environment.

 

4. Security Coordinator (Third Party Contractor)

Security Coordinator is responsible for implementing the Security Management Plan in coordination with SKK Migas Kalimantan-Sulawesi (Kalsul) and other PSCs. In addition to leading and ensuring effective implementation of the Security Management Plan (SMP) and compliance with relevant security frameworks, standards, and regulations.

The scope of work includes (but is not limited to):

• Lead, coordinate, and monitor SMP implementation and assurance processes across office, onshore, and offshore sites.

• Develop and maintain the annual Security Activities Plan aligned with company policies, HSSE&AI frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

• Ensure continuous improvement of security management systems and related documentation.

• Act as the single point of accountability for security assurance and performance.

• Manage the security team at office, onshore, and offshore locations, ensuring effective coordination and operational readiness.

• Maintain good working relationships with government security authorities within the company’s operational areas.

• Plan and execute security programs in accordance with company policies and relevant government regulations.

• Support the HSSE&AI team in establishing, updating, and implementing all security-related KPPs (Key Process and Procedures).

The position requires (but is not limited to) the following qualifications:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in relevant background.

• 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years of security operations & government relations, security system.

 

5. Legal Assistant (Third Party Contractor)

The Legal Assistant will assist the Legal Counsel in providing comprehensive legal support for the company’s operations, particularly in the upstream oil and gas sector. The role involves contract management, regulatory compliance, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

The scope of work includes (but is not limited to):

• Assist Legal Counsel in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements with third parties.

• Provide legal support and advice to management and various departments (e.g., Commercial, Finance, HC, Procurement) on day-to-day operational matters.

• Liaise with external lawyers, government authorities, and other relevant institutions as required.

• Support the company’s ongoing projects by handling legal documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Maintain and monitor the validity of corporate legal documents, ensuring timely renewals and proper coordination with relevant government agencies.

The position requires (but is not limited to) the following qualifications:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree (S.H.) in Law.

• 1–2 years of experience in a law firm (preferably handling upstream clients) or KKKS (Production Sharing Contractor) company.

• Strong understanding of oil and gas regulations, contract law, and corporate compliance.

• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
