Antam?s key projects on tract

IDX-listed PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) reported that ferronickel production volume decreased 19 percent to 8,009 tons of nickel contained in ferronickel in the first semester compared to the same period last year.

The company?s Ferronickel production reached 4,379 TNi in the second quarter

In its quarterly report, its Ferronickel shipment reached 9,991 TNi in the first semester, representing 51 percent of its 2012 target of 19,500 TNi.

?In line with the sustained strong nickel demand, nickel ore sales volume in 1H12 amounted to 3,190,858 wmt or an 11 percent increase over the same period in 2011,? it said, adding that the Nickel ore sales volume reached 1,421,209 wmt in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, gold production was 2% higher at 1,261 kg in the first semester as gold grades at the Cibaliung mine improved. Gold production in 2Q12 reached 691 kg.

Antam?s exploration activities in the first semester were focused on nickel, gold, bauxite, coal, and limestone. Antam?s total preliminary cost of exploration activities in 1H12 had reached Rp 14.6 billion.
